VAT returns

The VAT tab adds up your VAT for each quarter, after refunds, to help with your VAT return.

Reports > VAT: last quarter's VAT and sales, this quarter so far, and VAT after refunds by quarter. Tap any picture to see it full size.

Setting your quarters

  1. Go to Reports and press the VAT tab.
  2. Choose the months your quarters end in under Quarters end in, for example Mar, Jun, Sep, Dec, so they match your VAT returns.

An admin can also set this in Settings > Business, under VAT quarters end in.

What is on the screen

  • Last quarter: VAT: the VAT on your sales last quarter, after refunds.
  • Last quarter: sales: total sales including VAT, with the figure without VAT underneath.
  • This quarter so far: VAT: a running total for the quarter you are in.
  • VAT after refunds by quarter: a chart of your last 8 quarters.
  • VAT by quarter: a table with orders, sales including and excluding VAT, VAT on sales, zero-rated sales, refunds given, VAT on refunds and VAT after refunds.

For your accountant

Press Excel or PDF (top right) to download the VAT figures. For every order behind them, use Orders CSV or Order lines CSV on the Overview tab for the same dates.

A guide, not your returnThese figures are worked out from your shop's orders only. They are there to help with your return, so check them with your accountant before you submit anything.
VAT ratesEach product has its own VAT rate in its Details, and prices always include VAT. Zero-rated products show separately in the table.
