Nightly backups
Each night your shop runs a health check on its database, then takes a backup (only if the database is healthy), then tidies old logs and unpaid checkouts. If anything goes wrong, you are emailed. The Daily backup box shows Database health, when the Nightly jobs last ran and the Latest backup.
The last 14 copies of your shop's database (products, orders, requests and settings) are kept on the server, outside the website.
Downloading a backup
- Go to Settings > Backups.
- Press Back up now if you want a fresh one, or use one from the list.
- Press Download next to it and keep it somewhere safe.
Exporting your data
- Orders: Orders CSV and Order lines CSV in Reports, for any dates.
- Figures: Excel and PDF on every Reports tab.
- Products and categories: Download Excel file in Settings > Export & import.
- Redirects: Edit in Excel in Settings > Redirects.
Your content and data are always yours, and you can export them from the admin at any time.
Keep your own copiesDownload a backup and your order spreadsheets now and then, for example at the end of each month, and keep them somewhere else too, such as your own computer or cloud storage.
