Turning a quote into a sale

When a customer asks for a quote, you work out the price, then press Convert to sale. A new order opens with their details filled in, ready to send.

A quote request: the product, postcode and their message on the left, Convert to sale and Progress on the right. Tap any picture to see it full size.

Step by step

  1. Open the request. You will see their basket (or the product), the address or postcode, their message and contact details.
  2. Work out the delivery price with your courier.
  3. If you want to talk first, use Call, WhatsApp or Email, then set Progress to Contacted and press Save progress.
  4. Press Convert to sale. A new order opens with their details filled in. For a delivery quote, their address and whole basket come too.
  5. For a Quote only product, the product goes in at a quantity of 1. Set the option, quantity and price they asked for, and add their address.
  6. Set the delivery to your agreed price, check the total, and send the invoice or payment link (see Phone and manual orders).

After you send it

The request now shows Converted to order with a link to the order, and moves to the Converted pill. The customer confirms the price on a secure order page and pays. Once paid, it is a normal order in To pack.

Why quotes happen

A delivery quote comes in when a basket needs a service that has a blank price for that area in Settings > Delivery. Rather than losing the sale, the customer sends the order to you to price. See Delivery and postcode zones to change which areas get a set price.

Not going ahead? If the customer decides not to buy, set Progress to Closed. If an order was already created, open it and press Cancel order. Nothing was charged.
